Robert A. Ortenzio co-founded our company and has served as director and Chief Executive Officer of Select Medical since September 2001. He previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer from February 1997 until September 2001. Before co-founding Select Medical, Mr. Ortenzio was an Executive Vice President and director of Horizon/CMS Healthcare Corporation. Mr. Ortenzio co-founded Continental Medical Systems, Inc. and served as its President until August 1996. Prior to that time, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Continental Medical Systems, Inc. from April 1988 to July 1995. Mr. Ortenzio joined Continental Medical Systems, Inc. as a Senior Vice President in February 1986. He also was a Vice President of Rehab Hospital Services Corporation. Mr. Ortenzio serves as a director of U.S. Oncology, Inc.
